A Short Autobiography of Mr. Armendariz
Playing drums after a 14 year break (December 2011).
I was born and raised in El Paso, TX. As a teenager in the 1990s, I spent most of my time skateboarding or playing drums in a punk rock band.
I enlisted in the U.S. Navy shortly after high school and worked in aviation. I later transferred to the Navy Reserve and attended UTEP to study Political Science. I am now in my 13th year teaching at Chapin High School. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, working on my family tree, or hanging out with family or friends.

A pencil sketch of the band I played in during high school (1995).
I enjoy the mental and physical benefits of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This is an old pic from 2007. I have been training Jiu-Jitsu on and off (way more off than on) mostly during summer breaks. Though I train infrequently, it is an activity I really enjoy!
